Meet the H in the H Academy!

Meet Arielle Hamill (left) and Brittany Humes (right), the co-founders of The H Academy!

Ms. Hamill has her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and her master's degree in School Building Leadership.  Ms. Humes has her bachelor's degree in Psychology, her first master's degree in Childhood Education, and her second master's degree in School Building Leadership.  Together they have over 25 years of experience as educators!

Ms. Hamill and Ms. Humes met in 2013 as colleagues in an Early Childhood Center in Queens, NY.  Over the years their passion for children and their drive for wanting to change the education system, anyway they could, is what turned them from colleagues to friends.  In 2017 Ms. Hamill planted the idea of opening up their own school in Ms. Humes' head and from there that idea blossomed into The H Academy. In the beginning of 2018 they began looking for buildings to turn their dream into reality, however nothing met their expectations.  At the end of 2018 they entered 3161 Royal Avenue in Oceanside and knew they needed to look no further.  After almost 2 very long years of licensing and permits The H Academy was finally ready to open in 2020 !

Ms. Hamill and Ms. Humes were both eager and excited to be able to open the Academy doors for the first time for the 2020-2021 school year, even despite a pandemic!  They are now ecstatic to be able to serve the Oceanside community for years to come!
